The Announcement of the Second
DAYS JAPAN International Photojournalism Awards
In response to the burgeoning demand for quality reporting from the world’s
many war fronts and conflicts that claim so many lives today, we launched
the monthly photojournalism magazine DAYS JAPAN. The world-class photographers
who contributed to our publication do their work at great peril, many even
risking their lives for a shot. However the photos are taken, we aim to tell
the truth from the perspective of victimized civilians and not of those exercising
authority through military power.
DAYS JAPAN invited photographers and journalists to participate in the DAYS
JAPAN International Photojournalism Awards 2005. Many distinguished works
were distributed from around the world, and we would like to thank all those
who submitted entries.
It was the first world-class photojournalism award in Japan.
We are accepting entries for the DAYS JAPAN International Photojournalism
